JACKIE
ORTEGA - Mrs. Fil-Am 2008
Mrs. Jackie Ortega is a 39 years young. She is married to a wonderful
man and proud owner of Manhattan Giant Pizza Restaurant, Mr. Roy
Ortega. She is a proud mother of 4 girls and enjoys living in
Oceanside since 1989. She loves going to karaoke places with her
friends and watching movie with her family.
VIRGIE FLEMMING - 1st runner up
Mrs. Virgie Fleming is a Philippine-American national. She was
born in Iloilo City, Philippines and at the age of twelve, her
family moved to the United States and resided in Chicago, Illinois.
Mrs. Flemming had a simple childhood growing up in Chicago and
later attended Victory Garden Theatre where she majored in production,
directing and entertainment.
After she graduated, she moved to San Diego, California and met
her husband, Maj. Michael Flemming. She was married in 1990 and
a few years later, she had a beautiful baby daughter named Angelina.
At this current time, she works as a director for a modeling agency
and is also she is currently attending school to pursue a degree
in nursing.
LENNIE
DE VERA - 2nd runner up, Viewers'
Choice Awardee
Mrs. Lennie De Vera is a proud mother and single parent of three
children. She has a daughter named Kathleen and 2 sons, Karlo
& Kristoffer. Mrs. De Vera works at Tri-City Hospital as an
OR Technician. Between her job and as a mother, she is also attending
Palomar College to become a Registered Nurse to fulfill her dreams
and career goals. She loves to sing and dance during some of her
spare time. Besides devoting time to family and employment, Mrs.
De Vera also finds time towards active participation in community
services like the FIL-AM Association of North San Diego County.
