DRESS REHEARSALS

Mely Sivage is the current vice-president and the cultural fashion show committee chairman this year. She is wearing a dressy kimona attire made of jusi material.

The cultural models pose for a break during the May 18th dress rehearsal.

The visayan kimona models, both for dressy and casual types, show that it could be nicely worn not only by adults but by children as well.

The mestiza dress, known for its butterfly sleeves and was made famous by former First Lady Imelda Marcos, depicts elegance as shown by these models.

The models wear maria clara dress which was so popular during the Spanish era (1800's) in the Philippines.

The Igorot costume is commonly worn in the northern part of the Philippines.

The boys wear the casual shirt and pants worn by Filipino farmers and the famous hats or 'salakot' to protect their faces from the heat while planting rice. Note that scarves are worn to wipe their faces as they sweat while working on the fields.
